Another thought: A critique group is not only a community that actually cares about your writing, it can keep you going when you’re ready to throw in the towel. Our group of four continues to motivate each other through the sticky morasses of writers’ block, the frustration if near misses in the publishing world, and the challenge of keeping at it when life’s busyness gets in the way. And over the years they have become some of my dearest friends. I don’t know what I’d do without them.
